Oils on Clay Sculptures
Animals Series

I am excited to bring you this collection of clay sculptures! The inspiration for these works comes from classes I've been taking in Kripalu Yoga. Kripalu is a practice of "meditation in motion, gentle stretches, and meditative poses". These animals stretch out in yoga poses, opening their hearts, stretching out their backs, inverted in introspection, or just in quiet meditation.
The orbs they sit on are sometimes plain and sometimes fanciful. Often they express a certain season with the pose of the bird or animal mirroring the openness to spring or introverting to winter. Inside the orbs are clay beads with messages :
Love, Peace, Dream, Create, Cherish, or Laugh.
These are silent whispers I send out to the universe with each creation.

As with all my clay works, these sculptures are hand built, one of a kind originals. No molds have been used.
